As the best-known type of bodywork performed today, one of the primary goals of the Swedish Massage technique is to relax the entire body. This is accomplished by rubbing the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. It involves the use of hands, forearms or elbows to manipulate the superficial layers of the muscles to improve mental and physical health. Active or passive movement of the joints may also be part of the massage. If you’re looking to de-stress and relax, this is the massage for you!
Deep Tissue Massage is a specific type of massage therapy that mainly focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronic aches and pains and contracted areas such as stiff neck and upper back, low back pain, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders. The benefits of Deep Tissue Massage include releasing chronic muscle tension, lowering muscle spasms, treating anxiety, reducing arthritis symptoms, lowering blood pressure and improving recovery from injuries or a rigorous workout.
Lymphatic drainage has been known to improve circulation and reduce swelling. While the heart continuously pumps blood through the blood vessels, the lymphatic system relies on the movement of smooth muscles to transport fluid through the lymph vessels. This technique can help with healing after surgery, as it regenerates tissues to reduce scarring at surgical incision sites. Lymphatic drainage also reduces swelling and detoxifies the body, according to the International Alliance of Healthcare Educators.
With the use of flat basalt stones that have been immersed in hot water and sometimes placed onto specific parts of the body, the localized heat and weight of the stones during a Hot Stone Massage warm and relax muscles, allowing the massage therapist to get deeper into the muscle fibers without the use of a more aggressive/firm pressure. During this specific type of massage, all of the techniques of a regular massage are still applied. However, our expert massage therapists incorporate the use of the hot stones for massage as well. For added skin benefits, ask for a Hot Salt Stone Massage!
Orthopedic and Sports Massages are used to help prevent injuries, to prepare the body for athletic activity and maintain it in optimal condition, and to help athletes recover from workouts and injuries.

Medical massage is outcome-based massage, primarily the application of a specific treatment targeted to the specific problem(s) the patient presents with a diagnosis and are administered after a thorough assessment/evaluation by the medical massage therapist with specific outcomes being the basis for treatment.
Reiki is a therapy often described as palm healing or hands-on-body healing in which a practitioner places hands lightly on or over a patient’s body to facilitate the patient’s process of healing. Reiki combines the Japanese and Chinese word-characters of “rei” (spiritual or supernatural) and “ki” (vital energy). Reiki promotes healing by activating the relaxation response and helping the body to balance itself from a very deep level.
Reflexology, also known as zone therapy, is an alternative medicine involving application of pressure to the feet and hands with specific thumb, finger, and hand techniques without the use of oil or lotion. Although reflexology is not used to diagnose or cure disease, millions of people around the world use it to complement other treatments when addressing conditions like anxiety, asthma, cancer treatment, cardiovascular issues, diabetes, headaches, kidney function, PMS, and sinusitis.
Prenatal Massage is therapeutic bodywork that focuses on the special needs of the mother-to-be as her body goes through the dramatic changes of pregnancy. It enhances the function of muscles and joints, improves circulation and general body tone, and relieves mental and physical fatigue. Prenatal Massage can relieve back pain and improve sleep and mood, as well as decrease stress and reduce labor complications. This specific type of massage is done while you lie on your side propped up comfortably by pillows.
Shiatsu is like acupuncture, but without the needles! This fully clothed style of massage relies on the use of the fingers, thumbs, and palms to apply pressure to various areas of the body’s surface to help heal common ailments and conditions, and correct imbalances in the body. It can also lift your mood and help you to relax!
